Meet The Chimera Cat, Venus Who Has 2 Faces and Different Colored Eyes

The Chimera cat, Venus has gained a massive online following and become an Internet celebrity thanks to her two-toned face. She has proved that cats don’t just have nine lives, but they can also have two faces. This cute feline’s face is divided in two parts: one half is jet black while the other is calico. Furthermore, her eyes are different colors too; one is ice blue, and the other is green. The different eye colors of Venus are caused by Heterochromia iridum, which is a result of the relative excess or lack of melanin (a pigment).

According to pet experts, Venus is Chimera. Chimeras are those living organism that has two genetically different cell lines; in simple words Chimeras have two different types of DNA. That means Venus is like two cats in one body. Chimeras result when the two fertilized zygotes merge together during the period of conception. In mythology, Chimeras are hybrid of different types of animals, typically an animal with the head of a goat and body of a lion.

Venus has plethora of videos on YouTube, which have been seen more than 154,000 times with thousands clicking the ‘like’ button. In addition to this, now she has her own Facebook page where she has attracted more than 22,000 fans. Venus’ proud owner describes her cute feline companion as a ‘perfect’ and ‘gentle’ pet with a deceptively big appetite.
