Follow & LikeThe Miniature Doberman Pinscher first appeared in Germany and is the result of breeding of the Dachshund with the Italian Greyhound. Although, this breed has no relationship to the Doberman breed, it looks like a small Doberman. In fact, this breed is older than the Doberman pinscher.
Characteristic
The Miniature Doberman Pinscher has a compact, square body and his head is in proportion to the body size. His muzzle is strong and the teeth should meet in a scissor bite. The ears of this breed are set high on his head and sometimes his ears are cropped. Due to short and smooth coat, the shedding of this breed is average. This breed of dog comes in black and tan or chocolate with tan red coat colors.
Height, Weight and Health
This breed of dogs measures 10 to 12.5 inches in height. According to the American Kennel Club, a dog with measurements above or below 10 to 12.5 inches does not qualify as a Miniature Pinscher. Further, bitches and dogs weigh 8 to 10 pounds. These dogs like to eat; therefore, they tend to become obese. Average life expectancy of the Miniature Pinschers is 15 years.
Temperament
The Miniature Doberman Pinscher is a tough, lively little dog and is known for his intelligent, loyal and brave personality. This breed of dogs generally gets on well with children and other animals. Like other dogs, The Miniature Doberman Pinscher also requires good training and owners must ensure that they establish themselves as pack leader.
Living Conditions
This breed of dogs is good for apartment life. They are very active indoors and will do well without a yard. Owner should keep this breed away from cold.
