Afghan Hound

The aristocratic Afghan hounds are aloof and elegant dogs. The long and glamorous coat of this breed requires extreme care; therefore, do not purchase this dog unless you are prepared to make a commitment to coat care and exercise.

This breed of dogs is highly intelligent and learns quickly, but he will not always respond to the commands or requests of owners. Proper grooming is an essential part of living with an Afghan hound.

Basenji

Smart, mischievous, lively and by no means silent, the “barkless” Basenji has a great sense of humour. These dogs are catlike in their independence and cleanliness, and their wrinkled forehead makes them look worried.

The Basenji is highly alert dog breed that make them an excellent watchdog. This breed of dogs requires daily exercise such as a long walk on leash or an opportunity to run in a safe, traffic-free area.

Harrier

The Harrier breed of dogs is frequently mistaken for a small English foxhound or an oversize Beagle. Affectionate and sweet, these dogs are highly energetic. They can be an excellent companion for a rider, runner, or other athletic person.

Like most hounds, the Harrier dogs are friendly and outgoing toward people. Aggression toward these dogs would make it impossible for them to be the great pack hound that they are.

English Foxhound

The English foxhounds can be the best friend to an energetic person or family in a rural area who loves hounds and wants them to run, hike, or ride with on a regular basis. They love people and other dogs and they should never be left alone for long time.

The magnificent voice of English foxhound carries for miles. He is capable of running for miles, having great stamina to spare. If you are considering this breed, be prepared to give him plenty of daily exercise.

Otterhound

The Otterhound dogs are large, shaggy scent-hounds.  This dog breed is quite entertaining to live with but he can be difficult to keep clean. This breed requires exercise thoroughly every day.

These dogs are hairy, big, and a messy eater and drinker. They love to get wet and muddy. People who live with these dogs should be patient and have an excellent sense of humour.

Alaskan Malamute

The Alaskan malamute is a dog fur factory, as they shed a lot. These dogs are world-class leash-pullers, but they may be no more exuberant, joyful, and friendly dog in the animal kingdom.

Malamutes are extremely difficult to keep behind the fence, as they are expert climbers and diggers. The malamutes are friendly and love people that make them a wonderful choice for the active family.

Golden Retriever 

Easy to train, cheerful and eager to please, the Golden Retriever is the perfect family dog. They love everyone, especially children. They also get along well with the new people and strange dogs. They were developed to be a working dog that means a high level of activity is a must for these dogs.

This sporting breed has a gentle, sweet, and people-pleasing personality. These dogs do not have strong guarding instincts, so do not expect them to protect your home from burglars.
