Do dogs pay attention towards the television whenever it is about? Do dogs ever react when they see several other dogs on the television screen? A study was conducted to find out that the dogs also watch images or pictures in the same way as we do. They can also identify the pictures of other dogs. The dog’s spot pictures or images faster than the humans and they look at the pictures in a range of 2 major colors- blue and yellow. This is because dogs have dichromatic vision, unlike the human beings. On the other hand, humans spot or observe the full range of the colors. The reason being the vision of human beings is trichromatic. An image is quickly registered in a dog’s eyes’ than an image is registered in our eyes. When we need to arrive at the personal tastes on TV, dogs are just like us in the TV tastes. The dogs have the orientation towards the things in which they are interested. Sometimes, the dogs even respond to a barking dog on the television. There are some TV channels like Dog TV that accommodate the vision of a dog through some specific colors.
Domestic dogs usually perceive the images on the silver screen just the way we perceive them. They are quite intelligent to identify and recognize the animal pictures on the screen as they would otherwise in their real life. The dogs even recognize the dogs on screen which they have never seen before and they can easily make out if a dog is barking. The pet experts are of the opinion that the dogs actually move around the moving object that they see on the television.
However, it is completely up to the breed and personality of the dog that how it will respond to a barking of a dog on the TV – Whether the dog will get excited or ignore depends on his personality and the breed. The TV watching dogs find the hearing of a bark on TV very exciting. Sometimes, the reaction of the dogs goes to so much extent that they don’t only bark at the dog on the TV screen, but they also run around the TV searching for the dog that is appearing on the TV screen. But there are some dogs that are desensitized to the TV screens and they feel that the dogs in the TV are just hanging in there and they will not walk around in reality. Those channels that feature animals or dogs might appear interesting to the domestic dogs than the news channels. But they never watch the TV completely, just like human beings. They leave the TV half watching. They will always watch and react to the things in the TV in which they are interested in and the ones they are oriented to.
