Coat

As much as its ears are prominent, other characteristics make the American Curl a unique and impressive cat. Its most common coat is long, silky and soft, but there are also examples with a short coat. Regarding the color, the breed is accepted in all possible ones: brindle, tortoiseshell, white, black, tricolor and so on.

Pet Profile

Taking Care of a American Curl

The Curl, as he is affectionately called, needs basic care, just like all cats. Both short-coated and long-coated dogs are easy to care for and brush, as one or two weekly brushings are enough to remove dead fur and prevent hairballs from forming in the stomach. It's a good idea to get them used to brushing their teeth from an early age and allowing their ears to be manipulated, as you need to check them weekly. Offering a good quality feed and practicing physical exercises is ideal to avoid overweight in the breed.
