Health

The Cesky Terrier is a very healthy dog and has no hereditary predisposition to any health problems. Still, he needs to be taken in for appointments with a trusted veterinarian on a regular basis to stay healthy and away from disease.

Curiosities

The Cesky Terrier was recognized in Europe in the 1960s and, shortly afterwards, became popular mainly in England, but also in Oceania, more specifically in Australia, and in America, strictly in the United States and Canada. Years later, in 1996, the American Kennel Club recognized the breed and later added the Cesky to the Terrier Group in 2011.

Intelligence

The Cesky Terrier is an intelligent, obedient dog interested in learning new things. However, some specimens can be a little stubborn thanks to the independent spirit characteristic of the breed.

Temperament

Intelligent, affectionate and loyal to the family, the Cesky Terrier is a true home companion. He is a classic terrier, cheerful, energetic and playful, making a great running and walking partner. The Cesky is naturally alert, suspicious of strange people and, for that reason, he plays the role of guard dog very well.

Lifetime

A Cesky Terrier lives, on average, between 10 and 15 years.
