The coat is dense, shiny and smooth, with a bluish-gray color, with areas speckled with black. The length of the coat is medium, ranging from 2.5 to 3 cm. The paws and chest should be the same color as the coat on the body.
The bigger the rabbits, the more space they need. Therefore, the Giant and American variations need considerably more space when compared to the Standard Chinchilla. As they are curious and active animals, it is important to provide an environment with challenges and toys, so that they can be entertained and exercise. Due to the size of the coat, Chinchilla rabbits do not need much care when it comes to the coat, at least a weekly brushing is enough.
