There are no specific diseases that affect Havana rabbits, but several diseases and behavioral changes can develop if there is no proper management and follow-up with a veterinarian specializing in unconventional pets (wild and exotic) .

Curiosities

Due to its more compact size, it is an excellent pet for those who live in a small apartment. After several crossings, the large version of the Havana was obtained, which weighs less than 4 kg, but the original size remains the most sought after as a pet. Rabbit breeding is legal in Brazil, and it is possible to find breeders in different regions of the country, especially close to large urban centers.

Intelligence

Generally speaking, rabbits are quite intelligent and easy to train, but because they are more intolerant, the Havana breed can be a little more difficult to train.

Temperament

They are docile, friendly and loving animals, but they are not as tolerant as other breeds. Therefore, they may show aggressive behavior when restrained frequently or in certain games.

Lifetime

The average lifespan of a havana rabbit is six to eight years, but there are rabbits that live much longer. Smaller breeds generally have a shorter lifespan than larger ones.
