There is no specific disease that affects rabbits of the Himalayan breed, but they are animals that are particularly sensitive to changes in temperature, especially puppies, so it is essential to take some preventive measures to avoid large variations in temperature. In addition, it is recommended to follow up at least once a year with a veterinarian specializing in unconventional pets (wild and exotic) to keep the pet healthy and diagnose possible diseases early.

The coloration of the Himalayan rabbit's coat occurs due to the presence of genes that, when activated, by reducing the temperature, stimulate the production of dark pigments. Thus, the extremities of the body of rabbits of this breed are darker because they are colder regions. Himalayan rabbits, unlike some breeds, are not as active, but they still need enough space to carry out their activities and interact with the owner. Rabbit breeding is legal in Brazil, and it is possible to find breeders in different regions of the country.
