Its coat is double, with the hairs being short, dense and rough and the undercoats thick. The colors are quite varied, but the most common are sand and fawn. The breed tends to shed a lot of hair and weekly brushing is recommended to help eliminate excess.
The Anatolian Shepherd was born to be the guardian of a flock and protect its territory, so the lack of socialization and training can make family life difficult. Be very careful that the yard is well protected and does not offer chances for the pet to escape to venture into some hunting activity.
