The Pekingese has a very dense coat, composed of hair and undercoat. On its face, the shape of its fur resembles a real mane that, in some cases, hides its drooping ears. Its smooth fur extends all over its body and also on its tail. It is common for unshaven Pekingese to drag their beautiful fur across the ground, covering their short paws. There are hard colors more common in Pekingese dogs, gold and gray, but other variations are also accepted, such as bicolors (black and white, white and fawn and black and gray) and solid ones, such as fawn, black and blue. .
As said before, you have to be careful with the eyes of Pekingese, which are more prominent and don't have a long snout to keep them away from sharp objects, for example. Their fur needs to be brushed frequently in order to avoid knots and discomfort for the pet. Your creases need to be cleaned and inspected every day, as well as dried very well.
