The name “Ragdoll” means “rag doll” in English. The breed was named that way for two reasons: the first is that, at birth, ragdolls appear to have all "soft" muscles. The second - and main - is that, when they lie down, they relax the body so much that they look like rag dolls. They are also easily manipulated, commonly staying as humans "placed" them.

Intelligence

As previously mentioned, Ragdoll cats are considered practically dogs for their differentiated behavior. What does that mean? The Ragdoll likes to play a lot, it is a very active cat. In the case of Ragdolls, you can throw balls and toys for him and he will fetch, you can teach him tricks and he will come running when you get home. Because of these characteristics, they are considered to be very obedient cats and very capable of learning. In addition, the Ragdoll is considered to be more intelligent than most other kittens, having intelligence as one of its main characteristics. You won't see him getting into trouble like getting into a box he couldn't get out of or climbing a wall not knowing how to get down. They are usually homemade and the ideal is to keep them indoors, without being able to have a free life.

These cats are very docile, attentive and kind. However, they are also quite needy of attention and are not recommended for people who spend a lot of time outside. He likes affection, attention and playing with his human family. Because he is a "canine cat", he is considered very sociable, getting along well with children, other animals and even with visitors!
