Coat

The shaggy coat of the Australian Terrier is rough to the touch, with a soft undercoat, which measures approximately two inches in length over most of the body, being longer on the chest and head. The breed does not need as much hair care, as a weekly brushing is enough to remove dead hair and keep it healthy. Its colors are: blue and brown, sand and red.

Pet Profile

Taking Care of a Terrier Australiano

The Australian Terrier enjoys the company of its human relatives and does not tend to do so well when left alone for an extended period. You need to be supervising him at all times, even in the backyard, as he could dig up something like a squirrel if given the chance. Therefore, it is not recommended to leave a dog of the breed alone for a long time or he will be overcome by temptation. The bloodline, like all Terriers, has abundant energy, so it needs a lot of physical exercise. A 40-minute walk and a series of games daily will be all it takes to keep him healthy.
